In this age of a globalized village where the worlds culture is mixing and merging everywhere, Yaqut presents a multicultural representation of design and art detailing. Yaqut provides a scheme of concepts in modern Architectural design & detailing with elements from the main Islamic Art, Arabic Calligraphy.
Architecture is an art depending largely on social understanding, cultural vision as well as creativity and design.
Today, the Middle East and the Islamic world are busy defining terrorism and struggling with fundamentalism. Islamic culture and art turned into a disfigured, confused tool of expression. Modern examples of Architecture in the Arab/ muslim world reflect a "contemporary" tendency to follow the fashion coming form the west. Having sky scrapers in the dessert is a distorted solution to a flat land where horizontal expansion is a much better answer; especially after the new understanding of sky scrapers, where architects have to think of evacuating a whole tower in minutes.
Detailing in the modern middle-eastern/ Islamic Architecture turned into stencil circles and pasted particulars. The understanding of light, shade & shadow, space & place, access, land-scape and many other architectural principles are moving between environments, which makes creating the "new culture" much more complicated.
With our multicultural background, and close understanding of different environments, we at Yaqut, are trying to define some new elements in modern Architectural design and detailing, to set the stage for a coming generation, to use those principles and work further on the merge between the different cultures of the world.
